My best friend is a trans* guy, and, well, he was never very respectful of my gender or related issues. He’s the only other trans* person I know in person, and he’s older than me, and I really need him as a good role model, so this has always pained me quite a bit. I’m a FAAB genderqueer, and I present in a very feminine manner. In short, he’s always told me that I’m too feminine to be non-binary, not trans* enough, etc.- I look like a duck and I quack like one, too, so I must be a duck. He never said these things directly, but it was strongly hinted. He, on the other hand, is society’s epitome of what a trans* man should be- perfectly masculine, transsexual, y’know.
He just apologized to me, quite extensively, and very sincerely.
I. Am. So. Happy.
